The project “Two Rivers One Goal” is led by MURA REGION EGTC;

Project partners: Municipalities Goričan, Donji Vidovec and Légrád.

The activities carried out from 01.05.2017 to 31.12.2018 serve the development of the quality of water-based tourism in the Mura and Dráva region. The aim of the initiative is to develop a joint water-based tourism product along the rivers Mura and Drava in line with sustainability principles, and to draw an attractive water-based tourism landscape from the target area. During the project, a joint, sustainable water-based tourism product offer will be created.
The project will include the following attractions: 1 information point / visitor center in Goričan to promote the new tourism product; 1 revitalized artificial lake in Goričan; 7 mobile piers (4 in Hungary and 3 in Croatia) and 2 warehouses for storage of boats and to organize excursions on the rivers Mura and Dráva. For the sake of the complexity of the tourist offer, 8 rafting boats, a boat trailer and a speedboat (for possible rescue tasks) will be purchased. Hikers can plan their programs and routes and gather information with six touch screen info kiosks.
There will be 1-1 exhibition space and seating area on the Hungarian side focusing on the presentation of culture, tradition, lifestyle and tourism potential of the river Mura; 1 exhibition space in Croatian side, which will be used to showcase gold-hauling in river Mura.
The listed attractions offer innovative, unique, interesting and meaningful tourism content in the region. The developments enhance the attractiveness of the region, the competitiveness of the area, and reduce the seasonality of tourism.
